What can be done at a nurse house call?
Nursing Care and Monitoring
Depending on each patient’s needs, a nurse’s role can range from assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), to wound care, stoma care and even changing of urinary indwelling catheters, nasogastric tube (NGT) and/or feeding.
Investigations
Tests ordered by the doctor can be carried out by the nurse – this includes blood test, urine tests, stool tests, nasal swabs.
Treatment
Injections, IV medications and IV drips can be administered as prescribed by the doctor.
